It's Book Fair Time!

Come visit our Book Fair!
We have fabulous books and
other products from Scholastic
for the whole family!

There's nothing like curling up with a good
book or sharing one with a friend! Learning to
read is a life-long blessing and
Literacy starts early;
it's never too soon for books.
Scholastic says that "Good reading skills:

Can boost a child's confidence in all school subjects.
Will improve a child's ability to think critically.
Can pave the path to success in school, and in life.
Are developed with daily practice."

For good language and literacy information and tips
for parents, check out the wealth of information from
Zero to Three's website:

Hope to see you at the Book Fair, it's here all week,
March 24-28!

Thursday evening, the 27th, join us for a
Holly Tree Spaghetti Supper,
visit with other Holly Tree families,
 and browse the Book Fair.
Hope to see you here from 5 to 7 p.m.!

We love books at Holly Tree!

We also love playing, building, and creating!

Block play, as you see above, helps children express themselves
creatively, artistically, and physically. If you'd like to know more about
what can occur when block play happens, click the link below:

The benefits of Dramatic Play (Pretend Play) are immense.
Dramatic play affects almost all developmental
areas in young children. And it's fun!

Interesting information about Dramatic Play can be found at:

Friday just wouldn't be complete without a picture
of a cute baby!!! As the weekend approaches, remember
to take time out for a smile or two!
We hope we've helped you get started :)

Happy Hump Day!

Today is fun!

Our Infant 3 class made "clouds"; whipped creme clouds!

They had so much fun we thought
you'd have fun just
seeing them :)

Actually, all this fun comes from the joy of discovery!
(Not to mention the sweet taste of whipped creme!)

Young children are "process" people; they enjoy--and learn--
by doing. So here at Holly Tree we give lots of opportunities
to "do"! Not only was the whipped creme fun, the children
used their creativity! Activities like this allow children to
"wonder..." and to explore and use their senses to
connect to the world around them. Learning, for young children,
is all about the process, not the end result.
(Even when it's whipped creme!)

For more information about the importance
of exploration and creative processes
in young children please click the link below:
