February 19th

From Valentines to Construction to Art to Friendship,
we've had it all at Holly Tree! Today we are celebrating
our blessings and our Holly Tree children are the best ones!

At Holly Tree our children observe, construct, experiment,
create, build positive relationships, and develop a joy for life.
We wouldn't have it any other way!

has this to say about preschoolers' early relationships:

"Often the preschool years mark a child’s introduction to
the world of peers and peer relationships. Research supports the notion
that children benefit in many ways from positive peer interactions.
In early childhood programs, friendships foster a sense of connection
and security and build self-esteem and self-confidence,
helping young children adapt more readily to the preschool setting
Friendships provide important opportunities for children to learn and develop."

One Harvard Study has this to say:
"The warmth and support of the caregiver in a child care setting also influence the development of important capabilities in children, including greater social competence, fewer behavior problems, and enhanced thinking and reasoning skills at school age."

Our Holly Tree teachers understand this and create nurturing
relationships with the children they care for both individually
and classroom wide; we are blessed to have
the best teachers here at Holly Tree!

Many Blessings to you and you family!

Love Is In The Air!

Love is in the air at Holly Tree!
Though we share the love everyday,
February really brings out the "special"!
It all starts with our Holly Tree teachers.
They are creative, enthusiastic, and loving, and
it shows everyday in every way!

This excerpt from Early Childhood News,
an early childhood teacher resource, gives an idea of how
important young children's environments are:

"Jessica, age four, enters her new preschool classroom for the very first time. She looks around and tries to determine what happens in this space? Does she belong here? Will it be an interesting place to spend her days? Will she be supported as she grows and develops?Jessica will discover the answers through her interactions with the physical environment of her classroom. If she spends her day in an effectively designed environment, Jessica will be physically, emotionally, aesthetically, and intellectually nurtured. This appropriate environment can maximize her intellectual potential and provide a foundation for the development of her emotional security."

At Holly Tree we understand and and are joyfully
dedicated to providing early childhood excellence for all children!
