Totally talented!

Wow! The school-aged children are rocking it this year! Several of them, practiced for days and then sent the preschool an invitation! All the children went over and watched the very talented children....from singing and dancing to flipping and painting! There was a wide variety of talents! 

The kids came up with individual and group shows! 

We ended the show with everyone up dancing including the preschoolers and staff! What a wonderful day! 

A day at Holly Tree!

Sometimes taking a break from the administrative side of child care is a necessary need! When I need a big or smile, I visit all the classrooms! 

These kiddos were building a school! They are getting ready to start kindergarten and obviously getting excited! 

This little guy is playing dress up! 

And he checked me out when I bought my groceries!! 

And this precious baby was chillin in her teachers arms! I'm so happy to be able to go visit these precious children!! 

School age invades the Sam Davis home!!

I got the pleasure of going on the field trip today with the school age kids!! We went to the Sam Davis home in Smyrna, TN. It was very interesting and informative! We got to tour the house where he lived as a child. 

We got to see the actual place he is buried. Sam Davis was killed by being hung after a guilty verdict for being a spy in the civil war. 

The kids got to play with toys made during the time period. 

As the director, I don't always get to do fun things like this so I was definitely thankful for the break! The kids were so much fun and overall well behaved! You should definitely go see the beautiful home that we saw today!! 

It's Safari Animals Week!! We had Emerald Bay come to our school and show our kids really cool reptiles. Our kids got a chance to hold and touch these reptiles and they were thrilled about the reptiles. Even one of our kids let our special guest put a snake around his neck!! How cool is that. Desserts & Donuts!!!

This week at Holly Tree has been a week of yummy treats! On Wednesday, we hosted desserts with the director! Home style bakery catered in a delicious cake and fantastic cupcakes! Check out their website at www.homestylebakery.com to see all their treats! 

On Friday we had donuts with dads!! To show appreciate for all the dads at our center, we set up a table with different types of donuts!  They could stop by with their child and enjoy a tasty breakfast before work! 

I happened to catch one of our father and son having a special moment together! 

I'm so glad we are able to have special events like this! Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dedicated dads out there! Hope you all have a great weekend! 

School age summer fun!!

The school age summer quest camp has been going non-stop since summer started! Every week the campers go on field trips, anything from skating and bowling to the Nashville zoo! 

The zoo was so much for everyone! I asked the kids what their favorite part was and of course it was the jungle gym. So I asked what their favorite animals were, most said the Giraffes!! 

Although they loved the zoo, I think an all time favorite so far has been skating! They have been asking me to go back! 

Also the school age children have been giving back to the community. They hosted a food drive and donated boxes of food to Second Harvest Food bank! I'm so proud of all their efforts!!

Magical summer fun!!

Wow!! We have already had so much fun this summer and its just beginning!! Our special guest last week was, Bruce, the famous magician!!! The children all loved his tricks from turning a balloon into a bunny to cutting someone in half!! It was truley astonishing!! 

Several children were asked to participate in the show! The children were turned into pirates and went on a goofy treasure hunt!
