Festive Fall Recipes

As promised in our last poll, we're posting 
favorite fall dessert recipes! There are two 
winners: Caramel Corn, and Easy Apple Pie.
We think Fall food is fabulous!
Also, in our center's classrooms, 
our teachers, students, and families will be 
creating "Family Favorites Cookbooks."
They'll be available in December, 
just in time for the holidays. 
Make sure to stop in and get yours!
In the meantime, enjoy today's recipes!

Caramel Corn Recipe:

EASY CARAMEL POPCORN

3 quarts popped corn
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. Karo corn syrup
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
In the saucepan, combine butter, salt, Karo syrup, and brown sugar. Stir constantly until it starts to boil. Let boil without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Then put in baking soda, stir. Pour over popped corn.

Easy Apple Pie Recipe:


Ingredients

3 -4 medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 stick unsalted butter, cut into bits
2 store-bought pie crusts
1 hr 10 min
Directions
Place bottom crust in pan. Add apples, sprinkle with 
sugar and nutmeg. Top with butter, 
place top crust over and vent with a few holes 
poked in pastry top. Bake 375 degrees for one hour.
